Red flag when you are evaluating a source. Remember: red flags don't necessarily mean that you should use a source, but you should take them into consideration and proceed with caution.
Bias & motivation- does the source have an opinion they are trying to persuade you of? What is their motivation for persuading you? Who funds the source? Does their funding indicate that they may be trying to persuade you of an opinion? |
Citations - did the source provide citations or links to other sources? If they are using statistics, they should tell you where they got them from. |
Established source - have they been around for a long time? Do they have an established reputation? |
